Classy filly breaks maiden at Geelong

Thousand Wishes showed she has a nice future with a classy win at Geelong on Sunday.

The Lope De Vega filly is a full-sister to O'Brien's promising four-year-old Remember The Name, and the Flemington trainer said he was thrilled for Rosemont Stud.

"Nigel (Austin) and Mitho (Anthony Mithen) are great supporters of the stable and we appreciate that they have entrusted these two fillies to us. They are both above average horses and we will be looking to underline that with their performances throughout this season," O'Brien said.

Jockey Damien Oliver made use of the three-year-old's flying start in the 1325m event to push forward settle her outside the leader in running.

"They really went steady mid-race, which suited us and she gave the strong kick off the bend and won well. She is a lovely horse in the making as she has progressed well from her debut," Oliver said.

Thousand Wishes finished second on debut after being stuck wide for Oliver at Sale and Sunday's event was just her second race start.
