Dominant return for Go Public

Classy three-year-old Go Public landed a torrent of late money with a dominant performance at Ballarat on Sunday.

The Stratum gelding was let balance up near the tail of the field by in-form hoop Damian Lane before he eased into the clear on straightening and the gelding rounded up his rivals comfortably.

It was a pleasing first-up performance for trainer Danny O'Brien who also co-owns the winner.

"He is a nice horse that is destined for better things and we were confident he could get the job done fresh against this lot," O'Brien said.

"It was a strong performance given how far back he settled and he will most likely head to town next start on the strength of that win."

Sunday's victory was the three-year-old's second from five career starts and took his stake earning past $40,000.
