Carnival moves to Sandown

While the Flemington Spring Carnival is over, the action moves across town to Sandown for their two biggest days of the year.

Sandown has always been a happy hunting ground for the Danny O'Brien Racing team and it looks as though this trend will continue with some very good chances on Saturday. All three runners have provided outstanding results over the past year and they get a chance to increase on their combined tally of ten metropolitan wins.

Ambouli proved herself to be an excellent sprinting three year old filly winning her first four races before failing on a heavy track at Flemington in the Autumn. She stepped up to Listed grade first up in the Spring where she was caught wide at Caulfield and she has drawn much better for her race at Sandown.

Strata Title has recaptured her Spring 3yo form after her excellent first up win followed by a close third on Melbourne Cup Day. She is in Open class here again and with her back in form, she gets her chance to notch up another win.

Forest Spy has been a stable stalwart for many years and has notched up a Listed win and over $320,000 in prizemoney. The former SuperVOBIS horse of the year looks to be back to his best with a courageous run at Flemington on Saturday where he finished second. Both his Sandown and 1400m form is excellent and his fighting spirit will see him right in this Group 3 race.
