Made Me Shiver commanding first-up
Uncle Mo filly Made Me Shiver made a winning return to the races at Yarra Valley on Saturday leading all the way in a commanding performance.
Jockey Jason Benbow made the decision to hold the lead from an inside gate in the 1500m event despite much early pressure.
"I had a look at who it was and most were longshots so I made the decision to kick up and once I confirmed I wanted to lead we got it fairly easy out in front," Benbow said.
"She was always in control and was able to win with me easing her down. She will get good improvement from the run and I expect that she can go on with it."
Trainer Danny O'Brien said the filly, with strong American bloodlines who had three even starts as a two-year-old, showed with this performance that she will be a force to be reckoned with as she steps out in trip.
"I expect her to get better and better as she has matured so much since her last preparation," O'Brien said.
