Tried & tested formula sees mare bounce back to form
After just over 12 months without a win, trainer Danny O'Brien returned Miss Adequate to the track and distance of her last triumph to great effect at Geelong on Thursday.
The daughter of O'Reilly had last won over 1500m at Geelong back in November 2017, but a return to the distance at the track saw her bring her best work to score second-up.
"We were disappointed in her first-up effort at Werribee as we thought she had returned in great order, so it is pleasing today to see her get the win for her patient owners," O'Brien said.
"Hopefully now that gives her confidence to find her best form as she can win more races if she brings that effort to the track."
The five-year-old has now notched three wins and six placings from 18 starts and is closing in on $100,000 in stake earnings.
