Bullet continues love affair with Flemington 2000m

Second Bullet continued his outstanding record over 2000m at Flemington as he turned back the clock with a powerful finish to post his 10th career victory on Saturday.
The eight-year-old's last win was in Adelaide back in May 2017, however the son of Encosta De Lago had been ultra consistent with six placings since that last win.
Saturday's win was Second Bullet's fourth from 14 starts at the track/distance, which has also resulted in four seconds, three thirds, two fourths and an unplaced run in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes.
"He is an a marvel this horse. He has a real rapport with this track and distance, 14 starts four wins and seven placings, and never really running poorly is a fair record," trainer Danny O'Brien said.
Champion jockey Damien Oliver also has a good association with the son of Group 1 winning mare Private Steer as it was their fourth win together. Oliver partnered the horse for his last win at Morphettville and his only other ride on him since that win was for a second at Flemington in July last year.
"He always gives his all this horse and today he got a decent speed to spring off and he finished really strongly. It was good tough win," Oliver said.
Second Bullet improved his career record to 10 wins from 55 starts, which has included 20 other placings, and his prizemoney swelled to $767,547.
