Juste Momente Eyeing Australasian Oaks

In-form filly Juste Momente will run out the 2000 metre trip strongly in Saturday's Group One Australasian Oaks at Morphettville, the Danny O'Brien stable predicts.

The daughter of Giant's Causeway and Danehill mare Skates has had only one try at the trip when she finished fifth behind Tuesday Joy in the Group Two Wakeful Stakes at Flemington last November after which she was spelled.

"The distance shouldn't be an issue. She's run over 2000 metres before but this time it will not be at the end of her preparation and she's in winning form," said assistant trainer Gino Mata.

Juste Momente will again be ridden by Sydney Cup winning jockey Steven Arnold who is chasing a hat-trick of wins on the grey.

Arnold won Saturday's Sydney Cup on Gallic after the two combined to win last month's Group Two Adelaide Cup.

The filly led all-the-way when she scored a comfortable 1-1/4 length win over Collodi over 1400m when second up at Sandown on March 17 and settled in second spot before holding out El Pauji by a head in the Leilani Classic (1600m) at Moonee Valley on March 31.

Juste Momente's second-dam is Skating who won at Group One level twice as a three-year-old, taking out the 1993 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill and the Doncaster Hcp (1600m) at Randwick.

Amongst Juste Momente's opposition will be the Mark Kavanagh-trained Devil Moon and the David Hayes-trained Anamato.

King Cugat filly Devil Moon is after her fourth successive win following victories in the H C Nitschke Stakes (1460m) at Cheltenham, the Auraria Stakes (1800m) at Morphettville and the Adelaide Guineas (1812m) at Cheltenham.

Redoute's Choice filly Anamato won the Kewney Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield before failing in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill when last behind Divine Madonna and in the Doncaster Hcp when 12th to Haradasun.

Last spring Anamato ran third in both the Wakeful Stakes and the VRC Oaks (2500m).

The final field, restricted to 16 plus four emergencies, will be finalised on Tuesday morning.
