Own a horse with Danny O'Brien

An opportunity to race a colt by leading sire Hussonet with Flemington trainer Danny O'Brien has arisen for racing enthusiasts.

The striking chestnut colt, by Hussonet out of the well-bred mare Great Joy, was purchased at the New Zealand Karaka Premier Sale in February.

"He is a nice type, who is maturing into a lovely colt," O'Brien said.

"His early education is progressing well and this is great opportunity for anyone who is interested in getting involved in thoroughbred racing at a reasonable cost."

The horse entered O'Brien's stable a week after the sale and has since been broken-in. He is presently undertaking early education at the trainer's Flemington stables.

"I encourage any interested buyers to get in contact with us and come see the colt as this is a wonderful opportunity," O'Brien said.

The two-year-old has a strong pedigree with his sire Hussonet finishing the 2007-08 racing season as the leading second season stallion, with an overall placing of 8th in the general sires list. This finish on the general sires list for that season was well above his nearest second season rival, Rock of Gibraltar, who finished back in 31st.

This colt is from a half-sister to the Group 1 VRC Derby winner Hit The Roof and to well-performed stakes horse Gliding Light.
