Weekend blitz for O'Brien

Flemington trainer Danny O’Brien is gearing up for a massive weekend with 18 horses engaged across the three metropolitan meetings.

Starting tonight Moonee Valley hosts two meetings with the second to coincide with the Hong Kong international meeting in the twilight time slot on Sunday, while Flemington hosts a meeting tomorrow.

“It’s a big weekend for the stable having multiple runners on each card and with luck, hopefully we can get some results for our owners and keep our good run going,” O’Brien said.

In the past 20 days the O’Brien stable has been in hot form with 10 wins, 15 placings for its past 40 runners.

Tonight Pentire Point returns to the scene of his maiden victory in-form after a strong win at Kyneton last start, while the consistent Bishop of Derry steps out to 3000m for the first time.

On Saturday, classy Iamzeus, pictured above, is race favourite for his second-up start over 1400m, while dual Group winner Ballack returns in the 1700m open handicap and multiple Derby runner Buffett looks to bounce back to form in the 2000m open handicap.

In-form stayer Bellabaci highlights O’Brien’s strong team at the Valley for Sunday’s twilight meeting as the Zabeel-mare looks to make it three wins on end.
