Owners cash in with Group 1 mare

Group 1 winning mare Absolut Glam has provided another sensational result for her connections after fetching close to $1 million at Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale in Sydney today.

The chesnut mare, who is in foal to boom stallion Fastnet Rock, went under the hammer as Lot 522 in the sale and was sold for $950,000.

An astute $150,000 purchase by Flemington trainer Danny O'Brien at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sales, Absolut Glam rose to prominence as a three-year-old filly when she won the Group 1 Winter Stakes over 1400m in Queensland, pictured above.

The star daughter of Snowland earned her group of owners $920,900 in prizemoney from a racing career which included four wins as well as eight placings from 22 starts.

During her career, Absolut Glam won at Group 1, Group 2 and Listed levels as well as being nosed out in the 2008 Group 1 Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley. She also finished fourth and fifth in back-to-back Group 1 Stradbroke Handicaps.
