MM: SAVABEEL/NINA FROM PASADENA Colt - $220,000

PROVEN CROSS: This colt is a full-brother to PASADENA GIRL, SAVABEEL’s only Group 1 winning two-year-old. That filly won the Champagne Stakes in Sydney and was the first foal of REDOUTE’S CHOICE mare and three-time winner NINA FROM PASADENA. She has produced three foals to race for three winners with the three-year-old scoring since the sale.

His Cox Plate winning sire is continuing to dominate the Australasian racing scene with 67 stakes winners to date and three New Zealand Champion Sire titles. His progeny include Derby winner SANGSTER, six-time Group 1 winner KAWI and Queen Elizabeth winner LUCIA VALENTINA to name a few.

SAVABEEL has had eight black-type two-year-old winners and with this cross proven at two, and given the athletic nature of this colt, we have high expectations that this bloke will be up-and -running early for his owners.

MM: ALL TOO HARD/NOBODY GETS Colt - $120,000

SPRING 3YO: This colt is out of winning mare NOBODY GETS, who is a half-sister of Group 3 winner MUSIDORA, the dam of Golden Slipper placegetter and Group winner TULIP and Caulfield Classic winner SACRED EYE. This bloke is the dam’s third foal and the female line of his pedigree boasts Champion Sires FLYING SPUR and ENCOSTA DE LAGO.

His sire is BLACK CAVIAR’s four-time Group 1 winning half-brother ALL TOO HARD, who has already produced a stakes winner in his first crop as well as multiple stakes performers. His stunning sire won the Caulfield Guineas, CF Orr, Futurity and All Aged Stakes as well as finishing runner-up in the Cox Plate.

Like most of ALL TOO HARD’s progeny so far we wouldn’t be expecting to push him as a two-year-old, however we expect that he will be beautiful Spring three-year-old. Another positive is that this colt is Super Vobis qualified.

MM: SHAMUS AWARD/AUSTRALIA DAY Colt - $110,000

CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK: This colt reminded us of his dual Group 1 winning sire SHAMUS AWARD and we just had to have him. His dad gave us some great memories as a three-year-old with front-running displays of sustained speed to win the Cox Plate and the Australian Guineas. The son of SNITZEL raced at the top level throughout his two and three year-old seasons and it’s worth noting that the first-season sire was the first colt home in his edition of the Blue Diamond and Caulfield Guineas. His eldest progeny are now two-year-olds.

This colt's dam is Australia Day, a SEBRING mare that was stakes placed during her racing career which included a win at two. She hails from the family of Group 1 winner KERMADEC, Group 3 winner TRIPLE ELEGANCE, the stable’s very own Manifold Stakes winner AT THE HEADS. This colt is her first foal.

He is a very athletic neat colt that looks to have inherited every bit of his father’s physical attributes and we are very confident that we will look back at the price we paid as a bargain for him in the future.

MM: HINCHINBROOK/HIDDEN MESSAGE Colt - $240,000

NICE TYPE: This colt is by Champion First Season Sire of 2014-15 HINCHINBROOK who has had a excellent start to his stud career. Twice a winner at two himself, the sire has produced 193 runners for 115 winners with 11 stakes winners, including two-year-old Group 1 winner PRESS STATEMENT.

HIDDEN MESSAGE is the dam of this colt, a Pentire mare we trained to multiple city wins during her racing career. She was a gorgeous middle distance mare that has thrown lovely types so far as we had the fortune to see her first foal, a two-year-old named Phoneme, trial impressively at Flemington in the past fortnight.

Having seen the type of horse that the two-year-old had grown into made our decision easy to commit to this colt as he is a lovely looking yearling that looks like he will grow into a sprinter/miler of substance.

NZB: DISSIDENT/ROLLING IN THEDEEP Colt - NZD$80,000

FAMILIAR FAMILY: This colt is out of city winner ROLLING IN THEDEEP, who is half-sister to Group 1 performer and Group 2 winner CENTENNIAL PARK and our own Group 1 WA Derby runner-up and Group 3 winner BALLACK and 2yo city winner Awake in Grinzing. His direct female line includes Group 3 winner PROCRASTINATE, who turn produced South African Champion Sprinter and Group 1 winner LAISSERFAIRE, as well Group winners A TIME FOR JULIA, TIME THIEF, FOREPLAY and PERSONIFY.

The classy colt is from the first crop five-time Group 1 winner DISSIDENT. His sire turned up season after season at the top level having won a Blue Diamond Preview at two, finished runner up in Gold Rose as a Spring 3yo before winning the Randwick Guineas in the autumn. As an older horse trained on to win the WFA features in Sydney (All Aged Stakes) and Melbourne (Makybe Diva, Memsie & CF Orr).

We love this family and this horse really fits the same mould of the performers on his pedigree page which has us very keen on his future given the price we were able to secure him at.

NZ: SACRED FALLS/SHE’S GOODLOOKIN Colt - NZD$50,000

BARGAIN: This colt is from the first-crop of four-time Group 1 winner SACRED FALLS. The O’REILLY stallion won the NZ Two Thousand Guineas at three before training on to win two Doncaster Handicaps and a George Main Stakes at weight-for-age level. The stable has strong links to the sire’s family as his dam IGUAZU’S GIRL is a half-sister to SPLASHING OUT, who we trained to win a Group 3 and place at Group 1 level, before she produced black-type fillies SHOPAHOLIC and Spending that also graced our training barn.

His dam is the unraced ZABEEL mare SHE’S GOODLOOKIN, who is a half-sister to Group 3 winner and Group 1 placegetter PURE THEATRE and whose family has produced black-type performers Elusive King, American Dream and Prince Harada.

The mare hasn’t had a lot of luck in her early breeding career, but we bought the two-year-old O’REILLY half-brother last year and he has shown us enough to have us excited about securing this bloke at such a bargain price.

Premier: WRITTEN TYCOON/UMGETON Colt - $170,000

READY TO RUN: Everything about this quality colt points to him being up and running early. His sire, WRITTEN TYCOON is all the rage given his ability to throw a top two-year-old proving it again with Blue Diamond winner WRITTEN BY this season. Of his 55 two-year-old winners, he has produced three Group 1 winners with Magic Millions and Golden Slipper winner CAPITALIST and NZ Sires Produce victor LA LUNA ROSA also feature juvenile winners. Other Group 1 winners for the stallion include Tatts Tiara star TYCOON TARA and Doomben 10,000 winner MUSIC MAGNATE.

Add this to his direct female line and you see why we have high expectations for the colt. He is the first foal from five-time winning, black-type performer Umgeton, who won twice as a two-year-old. His granddam is listed winner EDGETON who amoung her seven wins was successful twice as a two-year-old, and as a broodmare has produced three winners of 14 races.

There is plenty of precocious speed on this bloke’s page and added with his stunning physical attributes we think he has been extremely well bought. Colt’s like him have made big money at the earlier sales this year and that was before his stallion sired this year's Blue Diamond winner!

Easter: ALL TOO HARD/RECOINAGE Colt - $75,000

VALUE BUY: As the prices continued to soar at the Easter Sales we were able to snare this son of ALL TOO HARD for just $75,000. The sire is continuing to impress early in his stud career having produced stakes winners VILLERMONT, DEMONETIZATION, ALL TOO HUIYING and CURDLED. As a racehorse the half-brother to the immortal BLACK CAVIAR won four-times at Group 1 level, winning the Caulfield Guineas, CF Orr, Futurity and All Aged Stakes as well as finishing runner-up in the Cox Plate.

The colt's female line is strong with his dam being the dual Randwick winner and Group 3 placed FLYING SPUR mare RECOINAGE, who is a half-sister to Group 2 winner & Group 1 placed SOVEREIGN NATION and stakes placed Houston Benefactor. This colt's granddam SOVEREIGN DUCHESS has produced eight foals to race of which all are winners, and is a half-sister to Champion NZ Filly (2006-07) and Champion NZ Stayer (2007-08) PRINCESS COUP, who won four Group 1s from her 10 career black-type victories and was also placed in the Caulfield Cup, The BMW, Australian Cup, Mackinnon Stakes and Ranvet Stakes. At stud she has produced a Group 3 winner.

If you are interested in getting involved with this Super Vobis qualified colt, contact us via email at sales@dannyobrienracing.com.au.

Easter: SHAMEXPRESS/STELLA LIVIA Colt - $70,000

SPEED ON SPEED: Given our connection SHAMEXPRESS it's hard for us not to be enamoured with any of his progeny that are stamped with his quality. This colt is an absolute beauty and we were excited to secure him for his racing career. His sire, the fastest son of Champion sire O'REILLY, had an affinity with the Flemington straight course finishing third in the Coolmore Stud Stakes as a Spring three-year-old before returning in the Autumn to win the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap. After a trip to the UK to contest the King's Stand and July Cup, he returned as a four-year-old to finish runner-up in the WFA VRC Sprint Classic and the WFA Lightning Stakes. His oldest progeny are two-year-olds and he sired his first winner in February when Xpressmymind scored by three lengths in NZ.

This colt is a half-brother to the highly talented listed winner and somewhat unlucky SPIETH, who has been nosed out at WFA level in the VRC Sprint Classic and Lightning Stakes. His two-time winning Great Britain-bred dam STELLA LIVIA is a three-quarter sister to Group 3 winner ARCHER'S ROAD and a half-sister to Group 1 winning German Horse of the Year RANSOM O'WAR who stands at stud in Europe. This colt is also related on his dam's side to Shuttle Stallion and three-time Group 1 winner CHARM SPIRIT, who was rated equal to CHAUTAUQUA in the World Thoroughbred Rankings in 2014 before heading to Stud.

This colt is the seventh foal for the dam, who has had five foals to race for three winners. For more information about this colt contact us via email at sales@dannyobrienracing.com.au.
