Allen works magic with Ragazzo Del Corsa
Just over two years since he won down the Flemington straight as a two-year-old, and 23 starts later, Ragazzo Del Corsa surged to victory at Pakenham on Thursday night under apprentice Ben Allen.
Despite the long spell out of the winner's circle the son of Stratum has won almost $200,000 in prizemoney thanks to a string of placings in good races.
"He has been a challenge as he is always thereabouts or unlucky in running, but getting that finish out of him has proved too much for many of the senior jockeys, but Ben has ridden him perfectly and found the key to unlocking his finish," O'Brien said.
"Hopefully this gives the horse confidence and he can go on with it from here."
For Allen it was his second win for O'Brien this week after teaming with the trainer to win aboard the impressive Portman at Flemington last Saturday.
