ANGEL TOO SLICK
Trainer Danny O'Brien's excellent month of March continued with Grinzinger Angel scorching the turf to victory at Pakenham on Friday night.
Leading Victorian jockey Damian Lane pushed forward from the wide gate to lead on the daughter of Harry Angel, and despite coming under siege late she was able to hold on for the win.
"It was a win full of merit as she burnt the candle at both ends. She had to be tough late and she was," Lane said post-race.
The three-year-old filly stopped the clock at 56.73 in the 1000m event, just 0.32 seconds outside the track record.
The win was O'Brien's 12th for the month at an amazing strike-rate of 33.33%.
Grinzinger Angel has now won three of her past four starts and looks destined for betters races.
