Bondeiger sidelined with injury
Last year's Victoria Derby runner-up Bondeiger is out of the Autumn after sustaining a leg injury.
The Danny O’Brien trained colt was scratched from Saturday’s Group 2 Autumn Stakes after sustaining a pre-stress fracture to a pastern and will require three months rehabilitation.
Bondeiger was slightly lame late last week and O'Brien's vets found the issue through an MRI scan, preventing what could have developed into a career threatening injury, if not diagnosed and the horse pushed on this campaign.
The three-year-old son of War Pass has won two of his six starts and last raced when narrowly beaten by Preferment in the 2014 Victoria Derby last November.
