BOUNDING BABY BRINGS UP DOUBLE DELIGHT

Melbourne Cup winning trainer Danny O'Brien took two horses to the Bendigo races on Tuesday and he returned with a double following Baby Hazel's classy victory.

The daughter of Extreme Choice always looked in control of the 1400m BM58 event after gun hoop Damian Lane positioned her in the one-out, one-back position from a wide gate.

The race was all over when he produced her to the middle of the track upon straightening and the three-year-old surged away for a dominant 3.5 length win.

"She travelled like the winner the whole way, and she really has come back in great form this preparation," Lane said following the victory.

"I liked the way she lengthened late, she is a filly that gave me a great feel and the sky is the limit for what Danny wants to do with her."

The win was Lane's third of the program, with his first winner coming with O'Brien as well in the form of the impressive filly Grinzinger Sun.
