BRAVE HERRLICH SALUTES

A well-judged front running ride and plenty of courage from Herrlich saw the three-year-old victorious at Sandown on Wednesday.

Stepping to 2400m for the first time the son of Snitzel made all the running before being headed inside the final furlong, however Herrlich wouldn't give in and lifted to score a courageous win.

Jockey Daniel Stackhouse was full of praise for the three-year-old.

"He relaxed so beautifully early and then we ramped it up nicely coming to the home, but the second horse got to us quickly and put a head on us," Stackhouse said.

"However he wouldn't be denied and kept coming, and was very strong through the line. It was a very good win."
