Bullpit aiming to bounce back at Moonee Valley
Bullpit won his first race at Moonee Valley over 1000m and trainer Danny O'Brien is hopeful a return to the track on Saturday can spark a return to winning form.
"He's had one of those preps where not a lot has gone right for him," O'Brien said.
"That said I must admit I thought he was a bit plain last start although it was a strong wind across the course that day."
Bullpit could beat only one home behind Decision Time over the straight 1000m at Flemington on December 17 but O'Brien feels the five-year-old is ready to run a better race at Benchmark 90 level in the William Hill Handicap (1000m).
"Back to the Valley I think he can turn his form around," O'Brien said.
"He ran in some strong races over the spring and the race on Saturday is probably more his grade now.
"He's always been a consistent horse and the only time he's disappointed me this prep was last start.
"He's come of that well and worked well since."
Bullpit has drawn barrier one and will be ridden by Damien Oliver. rate him a $9.50 chance.
