BURLEIGH DOMINATION CONTINUES STABLE's HOT FORM

Burleigh Boy's one act affair of the 1600m maiden event at Ballarat on Sunday, bought up trainer Danny O'Brien's seventh winner for the month and it's only the 9th.

It's a fair effort given O'Brien didn't have a runner at the three-day Warrnambool Carnival either. The Cox Plate winning training is hoping his stellar May continues.

"It's been a great start to the month with a stakes double in Adelaide on the 1st, and our horses are heading to the track in terrific condition thanks to our staff and they are running up to their best," O'Brien said.

"We have a few nice horses in the coming through over the next few weeks so hopefully there is more to come yet."

Burleigh Boy backed up his excellent first-up performance from April at Geelong with a dominant all-the-way five-length win today.

"He was very good first-up and probably got beaten by a pretty smart horse  on the day, so to come here in what looked an average race, it was great to see him win and win in the manner that he did," winning jockey John Allen said.

"He handled the soft conditions out there today so I would be confident you could push into the winter in metropolitan grade and he would acquit himself well."
