CARRIE BUILDS AUSSIE PROFILE
Japanese mare Carrie enhanced her excellent Australian record with victory at the Mornington metro meeting on Sunday.
The daughter of Manhattan Cafe has now had five starts since arriving in the country for three wins and two seconds.
"She is progressing through her grades nicely and she just continues stepping up to the mark each time we heads to the races," trainer Danny O'Brien said.
"It was nice to get on the board as a city winner and she gives the impression that she will continue improving."
The five-year-old came into O'Brien's yard having had four unplaced runs in the land of the rising sun, but after a lenghty spell appears to be enjoying her life Down Under.
Today's win was over 2000m and give the ease in the victory it appears the mare has the capabilities of racing over further in the future.
