Classy colt returns to work
Unbeaten Cambiaso is back in work as trainer Danny O'Brien eyes off the feature autumn two-year-old events with the classy colt.
The son of More Than Ready is ticking over in the early stages of his campaign at the O'Brien's stunning Barwon Heads training facility with the trainer aiming the black-type winner at the Blue Diamond.
And O'Brien knows a thing or two about winning the Caulfield feature having guided Star Witness to the Group 1 event in 2010.
"Cambiaso has all the attributes you look for in a early two-year-old and his debut down the straight here at Flemington was excellent," O'Brien said.
The colt was partnered by Dwayne Dunn in that debut victory when he proved too strong for his rivals in the Maribyrnong Plate on October 2, which is first two-year-old event of the season.
O'Brien immediately spelled the horse following the listed win with a view to the autumn.
"There was no need to try and keep him up to run during Melbourne Cup week, as we have bigger fish to fry later in the season," O'Brien said.
The Flemington trainer is looking at running the colt in the Diamond Previews and Preludes on the way to the feature event.
