CLASSY RETURN FROM YOUNG STAYER
In his first race since the VRC Derby, promising stayer King’s Crossing destroyed his rivals at Geelong on Saturday.
Sent out favourite in the 1726m maiden event, the son of Almanzor could not have been more impressive with a three-length romp, brining up a race-to-race double for the Danny O'Brien stable at the meeting.
“I am thrilled to see him return with such an emphatic performance,” trainer Danny O’Brien said post race.
“He showed good signs in the Spring, but for him to knock this race over first-up has us excited for his future as he is only going to improve fitness wise and will be better suited as we step out in trip also.”
Jockey Patrick Moloney settled the three-year-old in the one-out, one-back position before peeling three-wide and careering away with the win in the straight.
