DANNY AT IT AGAIN

It was a long way from Group 1 level that he soared to on Saturday, but trainer Danny O’Brien was at it again on Sunday at Ballarat when Sukoot scored an emphatic first-up win.

O’Brien only needed one jump out to have the five-year-old fit enough to produce a dominant four-length victory in a BM64 1400m event.

It also was jockey Daniel Moor’s first winner at his first ride for O’Brien since returning from a long-term Singapore riding stint.

“It was a great training effort from Danny as he was just a sit and steer job today,” Moor said post race.

“It was great to win again for (owner) Jeff (Dimery) as I have had a bit of luck in these colours and Danny may have found the key to the horse having him fresh over this sort of trip.”

The win was the Savabeel gelding’s third from 18 starts which has included 8 placings.
