DEAL OBTAINED WINS BY PANELS

At just start two, the Danny O'Brien-trained Deal Obtained showed he has bright future as he careered away with his an effortless six-length romp at Moe on Wednesday.

The son of Dundeel cast aside his close debut defeat to make every post a winner for jockey Damien Thornton in the 1600m event.

"It was a very good performance as I had to be positive early to take a spot, but he relaxed beautifully in the run and he showed a nice turn of foot when asked," Thornton said post race.

"He didn't know what to do when he got out in front by that far, but it's a nice problem to have and he is showing a great deal of promise early in his career."

O'Brien said he would give the three-year-old every chance to make it a feature staying race in the Autumn.

"He is a horse with nice talent based off his first two starts, so we might give him a month on 13th Beach and then an opportunity to make it to a race like the SA Derby if he can keep stepping up," O'Brien said.

O'Brien knows a thing or two about the race having won the Group 1 feature with Russian Camelot during Covid.
