EL CORDOBES IN FOR THE FIGHT
Trainer Danny O'Brien had to wait for the last of his five runners at Morphettville on Saturday to score his first win of the day.
Jockey Fred Kersley gave El Cordobes a sweet ride in the 1400m event and the gelding was able to fight off all the challenges in the run to the line to register the win.
It was Kersley's first win after returning from injury.
"He was brave today as we had to take a small gap, but to his credit he put his head in the gap and charged through which is what won us the race," Kersley said post race.
"The horse is in terrific form and I think he will gain a lot of confidence from the win and he can definately go on with it."
