Filly chasing home-track hat-trick

Remember The Name looks set to tackle the boys in Saturday's $120,000 Silver Bowl Series Final (1600m) at Flemington as connections chase a third-consecutive win with the progressive filly.

While she also holds an entry for the Rivette Series Final (1600m), run exclusively for fillies, stable representative Matt Harrington said the prospect of significant weight relief - Remember The Name will carry 55.5kg in the Silver Bowl or 60kg in the Rivette - had the stable leaning towards the former.

The daughter of Lope De Vega posted an impressive win over the boys at Flemington last month and her work since has the O'Brien stable optimistic she can become only the second filly in the past decade - Lady Selkirk was the other in 2016 - to win the Silver Bowl Series Final.

"She does have a lot of weight in the fillies race (Rivette Series Final) whereas in the Silver Bowl she's only gone up a kilogram after beating them last time so we'd be leaning towards running in that race and taking on the boys again," Harrington said.

"She did it last time so if she can get a good draw and be near the speed I think she'll be hard to beat.

"She's just kept ticking over the last couple of weeks and we couldn't be happier with how she's going.

"It's exciting because we aimed her at one of these races at the start of the preparation and she's getting there in great order."

And Harrington is confident in-form stayer Lycurgus can take his career prizemoney earnings past $450,000 with another win in Saturday's Banjo Patterson Series Final (2600m).

The son of Star Witness has been successful at three of his past four starts at 2400m and beyond, with his only blemish coming when a closing second to Choysa last month.

"You can't do much more than he has with three wins from his last four and the other one was a nice second," he said.

"He has gone up in weight but he deserves it because he's been winning.

"He comes up against the same sort of horses on Saturday, he's in great form and he's been ticking over nicely since that last win.

"Damien Oliver came in this morning and gave him a little gallop just to keep him going but he hasn't needed much (work), he's in a rich vein of form."
