GOONDIWINDI BREAKS THROUGH

Trainer Danny O'Brien looks to have another smart UK-bred stayer on his hands after Goondiwindi saluted first-up at Sale on Sunday.

The son of Epsom and Irish Derby winner Australia appears to be untapped given him winning despite "doing a lot wrong" in the run of the 1600m event according to jockey Damian Lane.

The four-year-old, who O'Brien purchased from the 2019 Tattersalls Sale, finished runner-up in both runs in his first racing campaign, however appears to have developed further since that preparation.
