HOT TO TROT MOTT

Enforcing rider Jamie Mott certainly knows how to get the best out of Reprisal, as the gelding bounced back to form on Monday at Mornington.

Dropping back from 0-64 grade to a BM58 was in the horse's favour, but it still need Mott making sure the three-year-old had his mind on the task at hand in the 1200m event.

"I know this horse well and what is requried to get the best out him as he can be very lazy in his work and his trials and his races.  I have now had three rides on him for two wins and third, so I think he responds well to my riding," Mott said post race.

"We were always travelling well with cover out three-wide and I juts wanted to come with one sweeping run which is what we were able to do and he bought his best form that was too good for these."

The win was the son of Trapeze Artist's second from six career starts.
