IMPRESSIVE STABLE DEBUT FROM ALLEE
It has taken Melbourne Cup winning trainer Danny O'Brien just one start to put the winning polish on the highly talented, but enigmatic Grinzinger Allee after the gelding smashed his opposition at Bendigo on Tuesday.
Having the seventh start of his career, but first for his new trainer, the son of Reliable Man and full-brother to O'Brien listed performer and dual city winner Grinzinger Star, stepped out to a mile and won untouched by three lengths in the BM64 event against the older horses.
"You can't ask him to do much more than he did today," O'Brien said.
"He travelled well in running and seemed to have the race in his keeping a long way from home.
"Hopefully today is just the beginning for him as he has always been a horse that has shown above average ability and we are thrilled to get the opportunity with him."
Today's win with champion jockey Damien Oliver in the saddle was the three-year-old's second from seven starts which has also included two placings.
