JETT GUIDES SASSY TO VICTORY
Apprentice jockey Jett Stanley showed wisdom beyond his years with a perfectly judged front-running ride on Sassy Boom at Caulfield on Saturday.
Stanley was positive from the barriers and when he showed intent to lead, he was able to gradually work is way to the front without having to do too much work on the daughter of Spirit Of Boom.
"When I saw Linda Meech grab hold on the favourite, I thought great I can take my time to get across and we didn't have to burn too much petrol to get there," Stanley said.
"Once in front, she traveled beautifully and we upped the tempo entering the turn and she gave a great kick, which set up the race.
"She was getting tired late, but she did do the early work compared to the others so they where entitled to close on her late. It was a good win."
The win was the four-year-old's fourth of her 16 start career and her prizemoney is closing in our $400,000.
