Keep Cool continues Adelaide love affair

The ultra consistent Keep Cool continued his love affair with Morphettville when he powered to his third victory at the track on Saturday.

The High Chaparral gelding has won three and placed second twice from his five trips to South Australia for trainer Danny O'Brien.

"This bloke is an emerging type of horse that has really turned into a really consistent animal as he has matured," O'Brien said.

"He hasn't missed a place this season from his eight starts which have all been on metropolitan tracks here in Victoria and over in Adelaide."

Leading South Australian jockey Matthew Neilson bought up his 50th metro winner for the season after a perfect ride on the favourite in the 2000m event.

Neilson used the good barrier to be travelling in the one-out, one-back position and when he peeled the gelding into the clear as they entered the straight the race was soon over as Keep Cool kicked clear to win comfortably.

"It was an impressive win and hopefully he can continue his strong form into the winter," O'Brien said.
