LAFARGUE FLASHES HOME LATE
Lafargue defied the day's pattern to continue his love affair with Geelong posting his third win at the track on Saturday.
The five-year-old has three wins and a second from four starts at Geelong Racecourse, and this win could be the pick of them as he came from well back when winners had been settling on speed earlier in the metropolitan program.
Ridden by jockey Billy Egan, Lafargue settled well back on the hot speed before unleashing a withering run to score the victory in the final furlong.
"He settled so beautifully in the run that I knew they had to be going hard as he can travel keen in his races. This made me confident that when I gave air late he was going to let down and he was excellent," Egan said post-race.

The win was Larfague's seventh from 25 starts and pushed his prizemoney earnings to almost $400,000 following the successful result.
