LANE AGAIN BY LA-FAR
Gun jockey Damian Lane continued his hot streak for trainer Danny O'Brien with a six-length romp aboard Lafargue at Echuca on Sunday.
Lane has ridden nine winners from his past 15 rides for the stable and Sunday's aboard Lafargue was perhaps the easiest as the son of Capitalist cruised to 6.25 length win in the 1300m maiden event.
It was an easy watch for favourite backers who supported him into $1.60 on the tote as the three-year-old sat in the box seat before taking over at the top of the straight and racing away.
"It was great for him to put together at the races as he does wind himself up, but once in the track he was all business and that was a dominant win," Lane said.
Racing Manager Jack Howard said the sky was the limit for the gelding if he could get his manners in order.
"Hopefully the penny has dropped for him here today and he can go on with it as he can be his own worst enemy," Howard said.
