Makybe Stud filly looks the goods

Trainer Danny O'Brien unearthed what looks an above average two-year-old filly for Makybe Stud at Bendigo on Tuesday with Moldova who proved too classy for her rivals in the 1100m juvenile maiden.

It was the second time in a week, that an O'Brien-trained runner has rolled an odds-on two-year-old favourite with a double figure winner with Moldova's boilover ($19) following Lady Lupino's at Sandown last Wednesday at $22.

The daughter of Snitzel showed great speed to lead the 1100m scamper and she rounded out her debut performance by quickening strongly to win the race easily for jockey Damien Oliver.

"She trialled ok the other day for me, but the improvement she made today was significant and if she can keep that upward spiral she can prove to be a nice horse," Oliver said post race.

"She laid in that trial but we were out on the course and she may have gotten lost, as she was perfect today when she had the rail to guide her."
