Mare Rings Bell on return

Promising mare That Rings A Bell returned to racing with an ultra-impressive win at Bendigo on Thursday.

Sent of $3.50 favourite in the BM64 1300m event, the Danny O'Brien trained four-year-old won hard-held by four lengths after settled second in running.

"That was an excellent win and she really does enjoy a surface that has a little bit of give in it," winning hoop Damien Oliver said.

"I would definitely think she could step into better races in the future as that was quite a dominant performance."

Oliver said he didn't expect the pace of the race to be as strong as it was, but daughter of So You Think was always in control.

"She has come back for her first-up run with a bit of improvement left in her, so that makes her win all the more meritorious," he said.
