MCNEIL IN A HURRY

Hurry Curry put in a impressive performance to secure victory second time out at Bairnsdale on Monday.

The Waikato Stud-owned and bred filly proved too classy for her rivals in the 1600m maiden event, after debuting over 1200m in August.

Melbourne Cup winning jockey Jye McNeil gave her an excellent ride as he let the eaerly speed go and settled the three-year-old in a stalking position.

"We always travelled well and she eased into easily, in fact we hit the front too early and she had a good look around, but she knuckled down late to win well," McNeil said.

"She is a progressive filly with a great attitude and I think she will keep getting better as she steps out in trip."

Trainer Danny O'Brien earmarked the Oaks Trial (1800m) at Flemington on Sunday, September 22 as the daughter of Ocean Park's likely next start.
