MOOR EXCITED BY SAN MARINO
Debut winner San Marino showed he has a bright future after cruising to a soft victory at Werribee on Sunday.
Jockey Daniel Moor said the son of Rich Enuff had much upside after he made a winning start to his career in the 1100m three-year-old maiden.
"He was really well educated and was very fit which held him in good stead today. I have trialled him three times this prep, however he hadn't shown us a big turn of foot at home so for him to do what he did today given he is so green was impressive."
"He has a lot to learn, but you can't do much better than what he did today and it was quite soft on the line as started to pull up late when he saw the winning post."
Moor also thought the gelding would be suited up to 1400m and even 1600m.
"I thought over 1100m they may be a bit sharp for him today, however they didn't go overly hard so he was on the bridle the whole way and then for him to find a couple of lengths when we got clear running was exciting."
