NASH AND GRAB ROSEHILL RAID
Trainer Danny O’Brien executed a daring hit and run mission to Rosehill on Saturday with Let’srollthedice teaming up the white-hot form Sydney jockey Nash Rawiller for the heist.
Rawiller was on fire with Let’srollthedice’s win his third in succession at the meeting and enabled him to close the gap to just three behind leading hoop James McDonald in the race for the NSW Metropolitan Premiership.
“It’s been 10 years since I won the premiership so to be in the race again is exciting,” Rawiller said post race.
“Danny filled me full of confidence that this horse could win, and the horse gave me everything late as he really needed to dig deep and throw himself at the line. It was a really genuine, tough win.”
After a last placing at Group 3 level over 1400m on resumption, the step up in trip to 1800m and drop in grade to BM94 level enabled the four-year-old son of Dundeel to turn his form around.
“The race shape was totally against him first-up and he was never able to get into the race. We thought he was going well and it was great for him to show he is going as good as he ever has with this victory,” O’Brien said of the Group 2 Sires Produce winning two-year-old.
“Nash’s ride was top shelf and the most exciting part was Let’srollthedice’s will to win the race.”
The win was the now gelding’s fourth from 15 careers starts and took his earnings past $550,000.
