O'Brien Happily To Be teamed with Waikato
The Danny O'Brien-Waikato Stud partnership continued it's great association with Happily To Be adding her name to the combination's winner's list.
The three-year-old daughter of Pins led throughout to score her maiden victory at Seymour on Sunday.
In just her fourth career start, which also includes second and third placings, jockey Damien Thornton was aggressive from the gates to the hold the lead and the filly was untroubled in the 1400m maiden event.
Thornton was confident the filly would be able to run a mile in her future.
"It was a really good performance, I was very soft on her late as the race was in our keeping, but she gave me a strong kick and I think she will handle 1600m no problem moving forward," Thornton said.
