O'BRIEN UNEARTHS ANOTHER 2YO WINNER
Trainer Danny O'Brien's fine season continued on Saturday with another impressive two-year-old debut winner when Pouting Lip scored at Echuca.
O'Brien has recorded 10 wins from 32 starts with juveniles this season at the amazing strike-rate of 31.3%.
"We have a really nice bunch of horses coming through the system, and we couldn't do this without the support of our owners and the excellent work of our staff," O'Brien said.
"This filly has a fair bit of improvement left to come which makes her performance on debut really exciting."
The Hinchinbrook filly was ridden perfectly by the evergreen Craig Robertson who pushed forward and dominated the race from outside the leader.
"She had the race in her keeping a long way from home, however there is plenty of improvement as she didn't know how to put the race away and did wait for them a bit," Roberston said.
"She has a nice future as she did everything perfectly and once she starts to understand the racing game, I think she will has the makings of a classy horse."
