OLLIE COLLECTS VOBIS COIN
A Thursday night maiden turned into a nice pay day for connections of progressive three-year-old Coin Collector when he was successful at Pakenham.
The son of All Too Hard is Super Vobis and Vobis Gold qualified and thanks to the bonus scheme was able to bank $41,650 for the maiden win.
Sent out race $2.50 favourite in the 1600m three-year-old event off the back of two encouraging runs to start his career, the chestnut gelding was able to secure the race thanks to a bold mid-race move by champion jockey Damien Oliver.
"The were going very slow early, so we popped out three wide to get a bit closer and when they sprinted they left him flat-footed, but I really liked the way he levelled out late to chase and win the race," Oliver said.
"He felt like he has the scope to go further and I think you will see a nice horse around 2000m and perhaps beyond."
