ONLY HANDS AND HEELS NEEDED BY OLLIE
Damien Oliver's whip was just for show at Pakenham on Thursday night as he guided Be Instant to victory with no more than hands and heels riding to the line.
It was an effortless victory for the Waikato Stud owned and bred filly, who settled last before coming with a sweeping run for the Champion hoop in the 1400m fillies and mares maiden.
"She travelled kindly in the run back in the field and was able to creep into it as they were going so slowly up front, so the effort was very strong given she was able to win with a bit in hand," Oliver said.
The win was the second in the past eight days for Waikato Stud and O'Brien with My Pendant scoring at Sandown last Wednesday, while Fabric (second) and I'm Buxom (third) placed at Bendigo on Tuesday.
The combination will team up with two runners on Saturday at Moonee Valley with My Pendant (3yo Fillies BM70 1200m) and Queen Leonora (F&M BM84 1600m) to race.
