PLAN Z WORKS FOR MISS ARIA AND TATUM

A blown start saw apprentice jockey Tatum Bull show maturity beyond her years as she guided Miss Aria to a barnstorming win at Caulfield on Saturday.

With instructions to have the race favourite close to the speed, Bull has to revert to "Plan Z" after the filly flopped out of the gates and was a clear last early in the 1400m BM70 three-year-old fillies event.

"After that start I thought geez Plan B and C are even out of play here, probably had to go to Plan Z," the bubble apprentice said post race.

"However she got in a great rhythm and I just wanted to make one, long sustained run on her and her finishing burst was fantastic. She really impressed me."

Trainer Danny O'Brien was thrilled with the ride and the horse's performance.

"A lot of apprentices would have panicked in that situation and given her a dig to get closer, but Tatum summed up the situation well and produced her at the right time to score the win," O'Brien said.

After a head-bobbing defeat at stakes level last start over 1400m, O'Brien is now considering running the daughter of Zoustar over a mile next start.
