PUTTING ON THE GLITZ

Three-year-old filly Glitzing backed up her encouraging debut with a clinical, dominant winning performance at Echuca on Saturday. 

The daughter of Starspangledbanner put the writing on the wall with a big finish against the pattern over 1000m to claim third at Moe on debut, and punters sent her out favourite in this 1200m maiden event. 

Jockey Liam Riordan pushed forward early to take the lead, absorbed some mid-race pressure before surging away upon straightening to score the victory.

"She was really good today as she never had any peace out in front, but she gave a great kick to put the race away," Riordan said post race. 

"She has a nice future."
