Regally bred filly gets the job done

She's the second winner for dual Group 1 winner Glamour Puss and is closely related to current star mare Steps in Time, so the win of this filly at Sale on Wednesday is well worth noting.

A homebred for Waikato Stud prepared by Danny O'Brien, who also trained and won with her older brother Heritage, the three-year-old Pins filly Hollywood broke the ice when scoring by a short neck in the 1208m maiden.

Improving on her debut second last month, the filly jumped fast from a wide draw and quickly raced across to sit outside the lead for Noel Callow and then found plenty in the run home to stick on and win.

Pictured here at Waikato Stud as a foal, Hollywood is the second winner from two foals to race from Glamour Puss, who starred for Danny O'Brien to win nine races and $1.2 million with highlight victories in the Group 1 VRC Salinger Stakes and SAJC Goodwood Handicap.

Glamour Puss is a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Vision and Power as well as Group 2 winner Rare Insight, who has been in the news of late as the dam of progressive mare Steps in Time, who won the Listed ATC Wiggle Stakes at Warwick Farm last Saturday by a commanding four and half lengths.

Pins has seven yearlings entered for the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale including a close relation to Hollywood in Lot 306, the first foal of Oh So Glam, a placed half-sister to Glamour Puss and Vision and Power.
