R.I.P. Master O'Reilly
Caulfield Cup champion Master O’Reilly has sadly passed away aged 10
Danny O’Brien who trained Master O’Reilly to win the 2007 Caulfield Cup ahead of stable mate Douro Valley, said the son of O’Reilly gave him one of his greatest memories in racing.
“It’s obviously a sad day when you see that. He was a great warrior for us and provided me with one of my biggest thrills in racing winning the Caulfield Cup,” O’Brien said.
Master O’Reilly won eight races in a 48 start career and just shy of $3 million in prize money.
Vlad Duric, who partnered Master O’Reilly to his Caulfield Cup triumph, paid tribute to the horse tweeting “R.I.P Master O’Reilly”.
