ROAD TRIP SECURES ANOTHER MILLIONS FOR O'BRIEN
Stupendo proved the success story of Danny O'Brien's interstate raid to Murray Bridge on Saturday.
The Victorian trainer took four horses across the border for the metro feature meeting at the iconic course with the whole team placing, but it was Stupendo's win the Magic Millions 3&4YO Classic that was the headline performance.
The all female-owned son of Supido was coming off a freshen-up after some indifferent form, but he bounced back to his best to secure the feature win.
Local jockey Kayla Crowther produced a super result in her first ride for the Melbourne Cup winning trainer.
"He was very brave as we had a take a run earlier than I wanted, but he gave me everything he had late to score the win. I am so pleased to get an opportunity for a trainer like Danny and to repay it with a win is exciting," Crowther said.
O'Brien also trained the fast-finishing Treporti who ran into third in this event, while earlier in the day, two-year-old Only The Best finished third in the Magic Millions SA Classic.
O'Brien's raiding quartet was rounded off in the last of the day, when Farhh Flung surged late to finish third as well, only a head from the winner.
