ROLLED GOLD FOR ROSEMONT
Rosemont Stud's well-bred mare Stay Gold continued her excellent return making it back-to-back wins with a commanding performance at Pakenham on Thursday night over 1400m.
The daughter of Toorak Toff settled back in the field for jockey Jamie Mott before weaving a passage into the clear and blowing her rivals away with a scintilating turn of foot inside the final furlong to win by 2.25 lengths.
"It was an impressive victory as she savaged the line and looked to do it so easy," trainer Danny O'Brien said.
"She has come back this preparation in terrific order and she is living up to the ability of her pedigree and what we have thought of her all along."
The four-year-old has now won three races and placed second three times in her 10 career starts.
O'Brien said the mare was "in the zone" and he feels the full-sister of Iconoclasm would be graduating to metropolitan grade before too long.
