Sacred Sham cruises to effortless trial win

Twenty-four trials were conducted on a Good 4 surface on Tuesday at Cranbourne and they will be a key set when doing the form on coming meetings as the transition from spring to summer takes effect.

Plenty of horses who went around will present punters with betting opportunities in the coming weeks as they debut or return to the track.

STAR PERFORMER: Sacred Sham - 1st in Trial 11 (800m) in 46.78 seconds

Now a four-year-old, this bloke seems to have come back in terrific order. He jumped right on the bunny and was on speed. When straightening he ambled up to the leaders under a hold from Craig Williams and came away for a decisive win. The time was just average for the morning but he and the second horse, Champagne Scent, weren't out to break any records so relying on the time as an indicator may be deceiving. We already know he has some ability with placings at Flemington and Morphettville to his name in his first preparation and with a rating of below 70 he can be placed to advantage to win fresh, making him a horse worthy of following.
