Sham hardly breaks a sweat despite the heat
Sacred Sham bounced back onto the winner's list with an effortless victory in 40 degree heat at Geelong on Sunday.
Wearing the Pinks Breast Cancer Council colours, the son O'Reilly made light work of his five rivals winning by a widening 3.3 lengths untouched.
Jockey Damian Lane, who partnered Sacred Sham to his victory in his race debut, was pleased with the win of the $1.40 pop.
"He had a fair bit on his rivals here today, but he still had to come, handle the heat and get the job done," Lane said.
"He ticked this box and will take a lot of confidence from it and he can head back to town where he will acquit himself well I am sure."
The win was the gelding's second from 10 starts and took his prizemoney past $75,000.
