SHIRTFRONT CAN'T STOP BLAZING SUN
An old-fashioned shirtfront with 100m to go wasn't enough to put Grinzinger Sun off her game as the classy filly won her second straight race over 1100m.
In the closing stages, punters-elect Grinzinger Sun was surging past second-favourite Verdoux, when that horse veered right bumping into the three-year-old filly.
"That bump certainly broke her focus as she was going to win by about three lengths. It gave her a fright however she was able to focus again and put the race away. The margin should have been by more without the interference," jockey Billy Egan said post-race.
The daughter of The Autumn Sun is building a nice resume as from her five career starts she has two wins and three placings.
Trainer Danny O'Brien said he thought the progressive filly would end up racing in town shortly.
"She has good ability and she has the right profile to be giving her a chance in the city, so we look forward to seeing how she measures up," O'Brien said.
